Meet the YAP Team

Charlie Rivera-Ghu

Founder

Charlie is an aspiring creative writer in the Bay Area and an alumna of the Between the Lines program, Iowa Young Writers’ Workshop, and Kenyon Review Young Writers’ Studio. Always looking for a new fixation, she’s recently found a camera betwixt her tenuous hands.

    Emily J.B.

    Founder

Emily J.B. is an aspiring concept artist and illustrator based in California, currently pursuing a Game Art BFA at USC.

She is deeply invested in art as both a means of introspection and storytelling, her work often involving vibrant ideas inspired by philosophical and psychological influences. However, at the core of all her work is a simple love for just creating.

      Sharanya Roy

      Founder

Sharanya Roy, a Scholastic Prize Winner, enjoys creative writing and is from the Bay Area. Drawn to language in all its forms, she’s recently begun exploring scientific writing, carrying narrative and voice into more technical spaces. She loves music in all its forms, regardless of genre.

        Emma Wong

        Founder

Emma is a first-year student at UCLA passionate about the intersections between health and the humanities. She is an alumna of Between the Lines and the Kenyon Young Writers Workshop. In her spare time, Emma loves nerding out over poetry, trail running, and fitting all the words she can in the spaces of her cramped journal.
