MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS AND ANNUAL DUES
New Members
California residency is not a requirement. If you have any questions about the application process, please contact Dot Edwards at membership@cwcmtdiablo.org.
- Determine your requested level of membership (see tabs below).
- Submit a New Member application form using the link above.
- Pay online through credit card or PayPal account, or a check payable to CWC/Mt. Diablo Branch for the appropriate dues and, if applicable, the Initiation Fee (depending on your membership level).
Membership Requirements and Annual Dues
CWC offers various levels of membership.

ACTIVE
Requirements for Active Membership:
Payment of dues and a one-time initiation fee. We welcome all writers whatever your experience.
Dues:
First year dues: $65 ($45 + $20 one-time CWC initiation fee)
Thereafter, annual renewal fee: $45
ASSOCIATE LITERARY PROFESSIONAL
This membership level applies to those who wish to support Mt. Diablo, but are not interested in professional writing. This could include editors, librarians, agents, book sellers, publishers, producers, directors, and book illustrators. A completed online application is required.
- Associate or Associate Literary Professional members are entitled to the same privileges and benefits as active members.
- They may choose their designation as either Active or Associate Literary Professional.
- Associate Literary Professional members shall pay the same dues and fees, local and central board, as active members.
Dues:
First year dues: $65 ($45 + $20 one-time CWC initation fee)
Thereafter, annual renewal fee: $45
DUAL/JOINT
Requirements for Dual/Joint Membership:
This level of membership applies to those who are in good standing with another branch of the California Writers Club and wish to join Mt. Diablo as an additional branch. A completed online application is required.
Dues:
Annual fee: $25
STUDENT
Requirements for Student Membership:
- Full-time students ages 14 to 22
- A completed online application.
- Student members will not be eligible to vote or hold office. (Exceptions may be made by the central board.)
Dues:
Annual fee: $15.00 and no fee to attend monthly meetings
