I had my own ideas about how to live my life, much to my Mother’s horror. The world, travel, and adventure were how I sought to understand what I could learn in life.
To be dwarfed in the shadows of mountains, to be awed by the vastness of the oceans, to be overwhelmed by the heat of the desert sun, or to be amazed by starlight that was so bright I could read by it; they were lessons in humility and significance.
