Meet Our New Member: Karen Phillips

Karen Phillips

Karen A. Phillips lives in northern California and writes humorous, fun, action-packed mysteries. She has several short stories published in various anthologies. Her characters are engaging and fearless. “A Deadly Combo” is her first full-length novel featuring an amateur sleuth who boxes. Karen is a proud member of Sisters In Crime, Willamette Writers and California Writers Club.

. . . and yes, she does take boxing lessons.

Visit her at www.KarenAPhillips.com.

A DEADLY COMBO is available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Smashwords, Goodreads, Kobo and most other book seller platforms.

Karen has an interview in the Write News. Here’s a quick peek:

What do you like about writing?

I love the process of writing. From the germ of a story to a vague outline to final manuscript ready for a developmental editor. The journey is always both frustrating and surprising, but ultimately fulfilling.

What part of the writing process is most difficult for you?

Fleshing out the characters. I find I have to really get to know each one, otherwise the story lacks depth.
