Jill Hedgecock is pleased to announce that her sixth novel, Pizco, was released on April 23, 2025.
In 450 BC, a fifteen-year-old boy and his mother live as outcasts on the periphery of their Peruvian jungle village. All the teen has ever wanted is to be accepted by the community. But when his mother dies, and his father is part of an invading party that destroys his village, his life is turned upside down. When he and the only other surviving teen boy from his village are captured by his father’s people, their journey becomes fraught with danger. If you like coming-of-age novels rich in cultural and historical details that involve traveling on an epic journey of self-discovery, you’ll love Pizco.

Jill is the author of two other travel-inspired novels, Rhino in the Room (Winner of the 2018 New Apple Award for Excellence) and Queen of the Rhino and a trilogy about a ghost-seeing Doberman. She is a regular contributor to the travel column in The Diablo Gazette, an East San Francisco Bay Area newspaper. To learn more, visit www.jillhedgecock.com.
