Three of Our Own and Member Book Sales

November 2022 General Meeting

Three of Our Own: Suzy Orpin, Michael Barrington, and Jill Hedgecock

The Panel

The pandemic loosened our strings. As a branch, we’ve been switching up old routines and bringing on new programs. This year, we switched Three of Our Own from the December holiday meeting to November. We brought along the Members’ Book Sale to gave members a chance to shop early for Christmas presents.

Our panelists talked about “Just One Thing” they do that helps sell books: Suzy Q. Orpin (Instagram), Michael Barrington (Give away a book and offer to speak at the receiver’s book club), and Jill Hedgecock (Facebook Groups).

Book Sales

This was our first chance for members to sell their books at a meeting, since the start of COVID-19. In addition, we have several new members, eager to both sell and buy. This made for a busy event. Sadly, I did not get any photos. If anyone has a picture to share, send it to me at webmaster@cwcmtdiablo.org.

I startled Liz coming in with our dessert. She recovered like the pro she is, and waved and smiled for a picture without dropping a crumb.
