Practice! A 2\,500 word story will typically take 10/12 mins to read. The short story 15-minute limit is firm.\n\n\n\nStories up to 5\,000 words have a time limit of 30 minutes.\n\n\n\nWe will use a microphone.\n\n\n\nRobert or Raquel will introduce each reader. He/she will read the title and the genre.\n\n\n\nFeedback\, if requested\, will be given. Note: feedback is part of your allotted minutes. Therefore\, your reading time should be shortened.\n\n\n\nThe next reader will be introduced etc.\n\n\n\nIf time permits\, we’ll have final questions.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCome\, read\, and enjoy listening at CWC Mt. Diablo’s Short Story Reading Group!\n\n\n\nTo accommodate the interests of those who write stories longer than 2\,500 words\, we will alternate the format of the monthly meetings. Every other month\, the meeting will be devoted to stories of 5\,000 words in length. These longer-story meetings will last three hours instead of the usual two. \n\n\n\nThe How \n\n\n\n\nWe will maintain a list of authors who want to read\, along with the title/genre of their stories.\n\n\n\nA small committee will select the readers for each month.
