Celebrate our chaotic\, but successful\, 2025-2026 year of new adventures. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPart 2\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHakim is an OG L A Street Poet\, an editor & publisher of books\, chapbooks & ’zines.  Longtime featured poet in Los Angeles\, he currently is working on starting Featured Readings in Vallejo & Benicia.  He is currently being considered for Poet Laureate of Benicia. \n\n\n\n\n\nHakim’s presentation will cover Poetry in its many forms. He will discuss self-publishing and will explore the fascinating adventure of taking things in your own hands. \n\n\n\nATTENDEES WILL BE SHOWN: \n\n\n\n\nThe history of modern chapbooks\n\n\n\nLayout\, structure\, working with printers\n\n\n\nPromoting your work\n\n\n\nThe limitations of online publishing platforms\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSCHEDULE \n\n\n\n\n  9:30 – Sign-in table opens\n\n\n\n10:00 – Writing Activity or Member Interviews: TBD\n\n\n\n11:00 – Feature Presentation\n\n\n\n12:00 – Meeting Ends\n\n\n\n\nStay after the meeting until 1:30 for optional events.
